Sometimes I get disheartened with our world when I see how rampant disrespect has become. Sometimes, it seems like compassion is a dirty word. It’s become worse lately with all of the layoffs and economic hardship that I’m seeing around me every day.
But this morning I saw a piece on the Today Show about a place in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania called The Clinic. This is a non-profit center where they only treat those who are uninsured. They ask that each patient pays what he or she can, even if it’s only a dollar. They rely on a huge number of volunteers. And, of course, donations.
Just knowing this place it out there put a smile on my face this morning and made me feel just a little bit better about the world.
